Résumé

Nowadays, the RFID technology can be found in many industrial applications, mostly for product identification and traceability in the supply chain. In this chap-ter, we suggest an environment in which the product can act for itself and conduct its destiny along its lifecycle. We use the RFID technology for automatic identifica-tion of a product and to manage its local memory. The UPnP technology (Universal Plug and Play) allows to develop product to product interaction, product to proc-esses interaction, product to environment and product to user interactions. The UPnP Services methodology gives to the product the capabilities to analyze and to control its lifecycle behavior. Thus, a product can analyze each stage in the supply chain, to control its needs and to avoid the critical situations. The link of RFID technology with UPnP framework offers the opportunity to design end implement smart object capabilities product within supply chain and manufacturing areas.
