Résumé

The purpose of this issue is to present a collection of research contributions on "Enterprise Integration and Interoperability in Manufacturing Systems". The research work focuses on defining methods, models, tools and technologies to make distributed enterprise applications interoperable to support the operations of collaborative networked organizations. The IFAC Technical Committee 5.3 "Enterprise Integration and Networking" has defined five challenges to be tackled in order to build up a next generation of enterprise and interoperability systems for manufacturing (Panetto and Molina). The challenges are related to design and create systems to support the paradigm of Collaborative Networked Organizations, define and build enterprise modelling tools and reference models to describe the dynamism of complex manufacturing systems, characterize and construct model for enterprise and processes interoperability, generate methodologies and techniques to validate, verify, and qualify enterprise models, and finally build up systems to support model reuse and repositories of dynamic models.
