Contribution à la modélisations des interfaces dans les structures maçonnées

Abstract : The aim of our study consists to model the interfaces in masonry structures taking into account the main mechanical phenomena which control their rupture such as adherence, slip, friction, the damage, etc. It is necessary to determine experimentally the behaviour laws and the numerical values of the mechanical characteristics of masonry to be taken into account in our model. Masonries are materials which have various properties according to directions because to the joints of mortars which behave like plans of weakness. Several factors can explain the difficulty in modelling a masonry: the anisotropy, the dimensions of the blocks (stones or bricks), the thickness of the joints, the intrinsic properties of the blocks and the mortar, the relative position of the horizontal joints and the vertical joints as well as the setting (made by hand). Consequently, usually masonry constitutes an anisotropic and inelastic assembly characterized by a tensile and often low strength. In order to better understand the mechanical behaviour of the interfaces and to define their mechanical characteristics, we carried out some experimental tests on various prisms of masonry made up of two and three bricks (full and dig) connected by joints of the mortar.
