We first introduce the state-of-the-art face analysis and classification methods in 2 geometric-based and appearance-based according to their descriptors' types, and passive and active methods according to the acquisition technique. We then present 4 physics-based skin models including Kubelka-Munk, dipole, multiple and photon tracking.
