Recent advances in the synthesis of anisotropic particles

Résumé

Synthesis of anisotropic colloidal particles with a good size and shape selectivity is a field that noted a real revolution enabled by recent breakthroughs. A large arsenal of methods for fabricating anisotropic particles has been developed, enabling us to potentially use these novel colloids to build tomorrow's functional materials. Here, we discuss the most relevant strategies reported for creating anisotropic organic, polymeric, and hybrid particles.
