Agglomeration in Solid Propellants loaded with inert particles - Study of physical phenomena using shadowgraphy image processing
Résumé
New algorithms to study agglomeration in a solid propellant composition loaded with inert particles are presented. Shadowgraphy images are acquired using a high-speed setup at ONERA. The composition containing inert particles is studied at three different pressure levels. Single particles and aggregates are detected on the surface and in the gas flow. Various metrics are considered in order to expose the effect of pressure on agglomeration such as residence time on the surface and initial acceleration in the gas flow. It is very promising to provide quantitative data that could be compared with future simulated agglomeration data.
