A generalized plane wave numerical method for smooth non constant coeffIcients

Maxwell's equations with hermitian permittivity " are used to model re flectometry in fusion plasma. Simpli ed models split them into two di fferent propagation modes. Here we focus on the O-mode equation. We propose an original method based on generalized plane waves and approximated coeff cients for the numerical approximation. This is justi ed in dimension one by a high order convergence estimate rate. Some numerical results are presented in dimension one and two.
