Corpus oraux par et pour l'apprenant
Résumé
In this article we present the results from a teaching experience based on the use of spoken corpora. The course, although delivered to student learners of French, was not a language course. The results show that, whilst the primary focus of the course was the study of sociolinguistics, the different activities that contribute to the compilation and the analysis of the corpus can help to foster a critical approach to language and to the social functions of variation. These aspects were reported to have enhanced general language awareness.
