Fault detection observers for systems with unknown inputs
Résumé
Many approaches for the design of unknown input observers were developed to estimate the state of a linear time-invariant dynamical system driven by both known and unknown inputs. These observers are often used for component failure detection, for instrument fault detection in systems subject to plant parameter variations or uncertainties and for fault detection and isolation for systems subject to unknown inputs. In this paper, a method for the design of fault detection observers is developed for linear time-invariant systems subject to arbitrary unknown inputs. A constructive numerical algorithm using generalized inverse of matrices is included. Moreover, an example illustrates the applicability of the proposed method.
