SIZE DEPENDENCE OF SODIUM AND LITHIUM CLUSTERS IONIZATION POTENTIALS

The ionization potentials of Lin and Nan clusters are obtained by photoionization. Shell effects are observed at n = 8 and n = 20, as well as strong odd/even alternations. The results are compared with the spherical shell model and the ab initio calculations.
