A Diffusing Wave Spectroscopy Study of Constrictive Flow of Foam
Résumé
The dynamics of a model foam in constrictive flow have been studied by diffusing-wave spectroscopy. Below a threshold strain rate the rate at which elementary strain-induced rearrangements occur in the foam depends only on the strain, whereas above this threshold the rate is simply proportional to strain rate. A possible mechanism for the unexpected behaviour at low strain rates is outlined.
