A STATISTICAL THEORY FOR THE DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF THIN ISLAND FILMS, APPLICATION AND COMPARISON WITH EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS

Using the electron micrographs of thin discontinuous goldfilms, studied experimentally by Norrman et al., we calculated the transmittance on the basis of a statistical theory given in a previous paper. The results agree rather well with the experimental values.
