When horizontal mathematization enters the in-service training of primary school teachers: a case study in France

Résumé

This paper is a progress report which presents the context, the starting point and the outline of an ongoing research project. The initial research aim of this project is to study what are the training issues involved in teaching and learning mathematical modelling in primary school. Through the study of a training device which proposes to solve some real problems in video form, I propose to show how and why horizontal mathematization is progressively invited in the training contents of this device. To do this, I rely on the first results of the analyses of a pre-experiment (analyses still in progress).
