This study aims to improve the living conditions of the Kinshasa population, particularly that of the municipality of Kintambo by providing a development plan to combat the phenomenon of flooding in this municipality. Although floods around the world are quite natural phenomena, several authors believe that in some regions of the world, their occurrence has increased significantly in recent decades due to climate change and the uncontrolled occupation of major river beds (MUHINDO S., 2011 ; Mehdi REZOUG, 2012 ; OZER et al., 2014 ; TANOUE M. et al., 2016 ; KISANGALA et al., 2018). This prompted us to conduct a statistical analysis of rainfall volumes over the past five years, from 2015 to 2020, field surveys and morphological analysis of the terrain. It was a question of comparing the rainfall volumes of two periods, namely the period from 2009 to 2014 and the period from 2015-2020 provided by METTELSAT, in order to see if there was a significant change in the precipitation variable. Investigations revealed six major causes of flooding in muncipality of Kintambo.

La présente étude vise à améliorer les conditions de vie de la population kinoise en particulier celle de la commune de Kintambo en apportant un plan d'aménagement pour la lutte contre le phénomène d'inondation dans cette municipalité. Bien que les inondations dans le monde soient des phénomènes tout à fait naturels, plusieurs auteurs sont d'avis que dans certaines régions du globe, leur occurrence a connu une hausse significative ces dernières décennies à cause du changement climatique et l'occupation anarchique des lits majeurs des rivières sans aménagement préalable du site (MUHINDO S.
