Comprendre les complexes thermaux de Baïes à partir de leurs décors
Résumé
This paper is part of a larger study concerning the decors preserved in situ in the Archaeological Park of Baiae (Naples). It deals with the Portico in the complex known as the Sosandra’ s one, which underwent several architectural and fonctional changes between the end of the Roman Republic and the 3rd century A.D. It presents the last phase of paintings preserved in a few rooms at the south-west of the Portico. The study of this Severian decor, depicting a Dionysian procession divided into several rooms, could help to understand their spatial and social context.
