What was said in the tens of thousands of #balancetonporc tweets? In the media, some have spoken of denunciation, or even denunciation, insisting on the personal variable of the messages. But these tweets are far from being an individual phenomenon; they build a cause of general interest and help to redraw the contours of this cause: harassment as a continuum. The chapter seeks to understand how this influx of tweets creates a common cause and under what conditions women speakers nourish such a forum. Both quantitative and qualitative analysis focuses on testimonial messages, showing how they play a central role in the dynamics of the debate.
Que s’est-il dit dans les dizaines de milliers de tweet porteurs #balancetonporc ? Dans les médias, certains ont parlé de dénonciation, voire de délation, insistant sur la variable personnelle des messages. Mais ces tweets sont loin d’être un phénomène individuel ; ils construisent une cause d’intérêt général dont ils contribuent à redessiner les contours : le harcèlement comme continuum. Le chapitre s’emploie à comprendre comment cet afflux de tweet fabrique une cause commune et sous quelles conditions les locutrices nourrissent un tel forum. L’analyse à la fois quantitative et qualitative s’intéresse tout particulièrement aux messages de témoignages en montrant comment ceux-ci jouent un rôle central dans la dynamique du débat.
