In order to pay tribute to their master, colleague and friend, the authors of this book have focused on the essential concern of Patrice Rolland, the academic: the protection of freedoms. Patrice Rolland has always combined a historical and philosophical approach with a litigation approach, whether in domestic or European law, thus giving his "work" a very special character within the law faculties.
