L’éducation spécialisée 2.0. Quels enjeux pour quelles pratiques ?, Rapport de recherche Jeunes Réseaux Sociaux et Prévention Spécialisée (JRSPREV), MMPCR.

Abstract : This survey aims to better understand the uses of digital technology by specialized prevention educators in Seine-Saint-Denis and the issues that arise in terms of practices and ethics of intervention. To do this, we sought to establish benchmarks for the digital practices of the young people they follow, to objectify the uses of educators in various structures, to characterize the points of view, representations and tensions that organize these activities, and to question in a more general way the ethical and deontological issues that these new frameworks and new practices raise. This collaborative research was carried out in close collaboration with the specialized prevention structures that commissioned the study. The educators who were "facilitators" were more particularly mobilized in the realization of the survey, whether in terms of the construction of the data collection tools, the development of the analysis methods used, or the work in connection with the other educators and the young people they supervise. We used both qualitative and quantitative methods, organized into five phases of research. Individual semi-directive interviews were conducted with street educators from 8 different structures (n=30); focus group interviews were conducted with young people (n=27) followed by the specialized prevention; a questionnaire was administered to the 8 partner structures aiming to identify the use of digital technology and social networks by the educators and the management (n= 122). Repeated observation phases were organized in 3 structures throughout the duration of the survey. These data were supplemented by semi-structured interviews (n=12) conducted during the March 2020 lockdown in 7 partner facilities. This process took place over a period of two and a half years and was accompanied by several periods of exchange and intermediate feedback: 7 Steering Committees for the study met in the presence of representatives of the Metropolitan Mission for the Prevention of Risky Behavior, directors and deputy directors of the associations, and heads of service.
