PTAM ou les défis de la télécollaboration interculturelle

The present paper studies and analyses the translation of stories achieved in the framework of the PTAM (Projet de Traduction Algérie-Moldova). It commits itself to deal with the difficulties and challenges of such an academic collaboration between Algerian and Moldovan students, using new technologies. Our paper tends to dissect the content of the exchanges of original stories between students who belong to different linguistic and cultural spheres, in order to see the extent into which the intercultural exchange between them was successful. Similarly, this paper will analyze the translations in Arabic and Romanian of the stories respectively exchanged. In other words, this paper analyzes language as a cultural vector in international telecollaboration. Therefore, this paper is an opportunity to highlight the translation difficulties that have occurred in the context of the PTAM, as well as the techniques used by the students to render in their official language, and to adapt into their original culture, a text that bears the linguistic and cultural mark of the Other.

Le présent article a pour objet l’étude et l’analyse des traductions de contes réalisées dans le cadre du PTAM (Projet de Traduction Algérie-Moldova). Cet article traitera, entre autres, les difficultés et les défis d’une telle collaboration académique entre des étudiants algériens et moldaves par le biais des nouvelles technologies. Il s’agit de décortiquer le contenu des échanges de contes écrits en arabe et roumain entre ces étudiants de deux rives linguistiquement et culturellement différentes, dans le but de voir le degré de réussite de l’échange interculturel qui a lieu entre eux. Autrement dit, nous analysons la langue comme vecteur culturel lors de l’échange en ligne entre les participants au PTAM. Notre article est, par conséquent, une occasion pour mettre en lumière les difficultés de traduction survenues dans le cadre du PTAM, ainsi que les techniques utilisées par les étudiants pour rendre dans leur langue officielle, et dans leur culture originale, un texte qui porte l’empreinte linguistique et culturelle de l’Autre.
