La topofilia en la construcción de procesos de Educación Ambiental Comunitarios en Colombia

Abstract : In Colombia, despite the efforts to create Environmental Education processes that have an impact on the needs of the territory and which are relevant for the different generations, there are still no strong government programs on the subject that, with solid variables, measure the impact of these processes in society; on the contrary, nowadays there are short-term projects seeking to meet institutional requirements.This text suggests the use of topophilia as a link between individuals and the place, conceived as a strategy for territorial appropriation and as the first step to achieve a community environmental education that shapes spatial and democratic people who are conscious of their role in the formulation of plans for the management and conservation of local biodiversity, as a biocultural and self-defining heritage.
