Abstract : With the massive developments in communication technologies and their interconnections, the "knowledge society" can well be seen as one of knowledge at hand. However, accessibility to the greatest number of people does not in any way guarantee the nature or validity of what is being accessed. Confusion has arisen as much between facts and judgements as between information and knowledge or between transmission and manipulation. Thus, the scientific field and observable astronomical phenomena are preferred frameworks for the development of infox. These are in fact largely amplified by two specificities of science-related communications: on the one hand the fragility of knowledge, built in permanent scepticism, and on the other hand the desire to capture the reader through sensationalism. In order to deal with the twofold phenomenon of spontaneous proliferation and orchestrated insemination of infox, the simple distinction between "science" and "belief" is insufficient. Beyond raising awareness of the experimental method, teaching or cultural mediation strategies must also address the issue of erudition and make the traceability of knowledge one of their requirements.
