Roland Pressat is a prominent représentative of researchers forged in the « Sauvy spirit ». Sense of rigor, qualities of pen and taste for popularization. His contribution to the dissémination of demographic analysis was considérable and many demographers across all continents, owe him their training, both by his teaching, in Paris and Montreal, and his books. His pedagogical innovation was the création of « homework » as a learning to research. A man of passion, he was also a collector of engravings, a lover of wines and cigars.
