Le modèle européen de protection des données personnelles à l'heure de la gloire et des périls

Abstract : At first glance, the European model of personal data protection has never looked so good. The significant increase in sanctions when the DGPS came into force gave the supervisory authorities new credibility. He launched a hasty race to comply, in public and private structures where the Data Protection Act had not been taken seriously for forty years. The European model is shining, but it is also under threat. Inside: by its lack of readability and effectiveness. Outside: by international competition with more liberal models, first and foremost the American model. From this struggle for sovereignty, it is difficult to know who will win.
