Méthodes pour l'adéquation entre phonèmes et graphèmes avant la création de la Real Academia Española : le cas de la "jota"

Abstract : We are interested in the methods used in dictionaries and spelling treaties that existed before the creation of the Real Academia Española (1713) to describe the phoneme that was most recently introduced into the Spanish consonant system: the deaf velar fricative/X/, spelling in modern Spanish 'j' and 'g'. The aim is to give an account of the reflections that these lexicographers have transmitted on the relationship between the written and the oral.
