Abstract : The film adaptation and comic strip adaptation, works in their own right, promote a lively and contextualized approach to literary text. We would like to reflect on the didactic interest of such cultural objects and the conditions of their pedagogical exploitation in French as a foreign language (FLE) classes and university centres, by illustrating our subject with an example of a didactic and multimodal path, designed around the novel Un sac de billes by Joseph Joffo (1973), adapted for cinema by Jacques Doillon (1975) then Christian Duguay (2016) and finally transposed into comics by Kris and Vincent Bailly in 2011 and 2012. Our study is based on an experiment conducted in a literature class at B2 level, at the Department of International French Language Teaching (DEFI), a French as a Foreign Language (FLE) centre at the University of Lille, and examines how this multimodal reading experience contributes to developing students' intercultural skills. Our article first describes the proposed path around the work and its transcription and specifies the objectives. The production and statements of students apprehended through interviews and a questionnaire based on open-ended questions are then analysed.
