Du stade de Domitien à la piazza Navona : l'architecture et son image présentation générale du projet

Abstract : The plan of the Navone place follows the one of the emperor Domitien stadium built on the 1 st century A.D. Remains are in part preserved under modern buildings. Our research concerns the different stages of the great Roman building transformations to the baroque place. In this study, image in all its forms, is an essential source of knowledge, but is also a writing support for data and for the formulation of hypothesis. Possibilities offered by using both archive documents and new images receive thus particular attention.
