Les processus médiatiques de (dis)qualification des rappeurs : Le rôle de la figure de « l'artiste-créateur »

Abstract : This presentation analyze the disqualification and valorization processes of rappers in le Figaro, le Monde, Libération and Télérama, from January 2000 to December 2015. It focuses particularly on the role played by the figure of the “artist-creator”, which emerged in the 19th century, in these processes. It aims to understand how the national mainstream and cultural press, that is not specialised in rap, produces particular meanings about the musical genre of rap and rappers.
