This article aims at giving an interpretation of generation Y. Scientific surveys about generation Y indeed show contradictory results and do not allow to know whether it really exists. How can we thus explain this successful segmentation? The strength of managerial fashions gives a first explanation, the notion of myth a second one. We will then interpret this last one in order to make criticisms from the genealogical principle point of view.
Le présent article a pour objectif de formuler une interprétation de la génération Y. En effet, les enquêtes scientifiques, qui portent sur cette dernière, offrent le spectacle de résultats contradictoires et ne permettent pas de trancher le débat son existence réelle ou fictive. Comment alors expliquer le succès de cette segmentation générationnelle ? La force des modes managériales fournit une première explication, la notion de mythe une seconde. Il s’agit alors d’interpréter ce dernier et d’en proposer une critique du point de vue du principe généalogique.
