Low complexity iterative multiuser detection and equalization for multipath MIMO coded systems

Résumé

This paper addresses the issue of advanced multiuser detection and equalization for multiuser space-time transmission over multipath multiple input multiple output (MIMO) fading channel. Instead of resorting to the straightforward analogy between users and antennas, we introduce a low-complexity approach where multiuser interference (MUI) cancellation and intersymbol interference (ISI) suppression are decoupled. The turbo receiver starts firstly by canceling soft MUI. Covariance matrix of residual MUI plus thermal noise is re-estimated at each turbo iteration and used by the single user equalization stage to help ISI cancellation. Simulation results show that compared with the single user bound, attractive performance is achieved
