Entre classe et genre : l'humanité des mères infanticides en question

Abstract : How can the media put into narrative the trials of the mothers, who kill their newborns? How to address this specific violence, the infanticides, which break so strongly the gender norms, attached to the maternity, and how to face the figures of “murderous mothers”? By being interested in the discourses, by general information media, about the trial of “the Courjault Affair” in 2009, by comparing them with those dedicated to the “Cottrez” trial in 2015, and by characterizing the assignments of class and gender, this article analyses the discursive evolutions in the partial and progressive narrative integration of this threatening figure of the murderous mother.
