Dimidii asses. La chronologie des bronzes coupés de la République romaine et du début du Principat

Abstract : This paper studies anew the cutting of Roman copper-alloyed coins from the Republic to the Ast c. AD. Using data from recent archaeological excavations, it reviews previous interpretations of the phenomenon, most notably the one offered by T.V. Buttrey in a famous paper from 1972.
