Longitudinal vibrations of a thin rod interacting with an immobile limiter

A solution of the problem of longitudinal vibrations of an elastic rod interacting with a one-sided limiter is presented. The methods of frequency–time analysis are used to obtain exact solutions that describe free and forced vibrations. Frequency characteristics of the system are determined. The obtained exact solution is compared to the approximate solutions found earlier.
