LA PHONOLOGIE AU PAYS DES KABARDES

Abstract : Bolshevik revolution and 1920s constitute a pivotal instant in the linguistics in Russia. Alphabetisation program brings Russian and Soviet linguists to understand that their science must be reoriented towards the needs of practice. Their practical work on alphabets ask fundamental questions: how to transcribe sounds, how to treat sound difference, that is it the phoneme? By tilting us on a concrete example, the development of alphabet for the Kabardian language, this article shows the progress of phonological doctrine in Russia.
