Toucher le virtuel : une nouvelle anthropologie

Abstract : Among the current issues dealing with technological objects one has to admit that the body is the major concern of designers and users. Images and virtual environments require the consumers, like the video games players, to be physically involved within the virtual environments. The new generation of digital interfaces shows - technologically - the wishes of numerous people to build a direct and tangible relationship with virtual worlds where the "touch" seems to hold a leading place. This article goes through the anthropological meanings of this phenomenon, which would be considered as a scanner of the underground dynamics, which are leading the contemporary society. One of the proposed thesis is that the attractiveness of the users' immersion in virtual worlds raise the question of the humans' awareness in the contemporary world, say its translation into the technological language of the modernity.
