Roller and drum drying for food powder production

Résumé

Drum drying, along with spray drying, is currently the premium technology of choice for the production of food powders. It has many advantages, including minimal energy consumption and residence time dispersion. In addition, the current technology offers numerous variants to satisfy all needs. Available at many scales, from small scale up to mass market production, drum drying offers a level of controllability barely met by standard food dryers. Drum dryers are also capable of generating exclusive powder properties, further enhancing their applicability.
