COSMOLOGIE DISCRÈTE DANS LES NEW SELECTED POEMS 1957-1994 DE TED HUGHES
Résumé
The poetic oeuvre of Ted Hughes, of which the New Selected Poems 1957-1994 are the condensed form, is implicitly organized in a cosmology. The poet has never expressed it in a direct way, except, partly, in the work he once did with Peter Brook for Orghast. By making use of some of the information published by A. C. H. Smith in his book on the subject, it is possible to sketch the outline of a theological system that is the silent architecture of Hughes's poetry, with particular reference to individual poems.
L'oeuvre de Ted Hughes, dont les New Selected Poems 1957-1994 sont la forme condensée, est implicitement organisée en une cosmologie. Le poète ne l'a jamais exposée directement, sauf peu-être, en partie, dans le travail qu'il fit autrefois avec Peter Brook pour Orghast. En utilisant certaines informations publiées par A. C. H. Smith dans son ouvrage sur la question, il est possible de faire schématiquement apparaître les contours d'un systèe théologique qui donne son architecture silencieuse à la poésie de Hughes, en prenant appui sur un choix de poèmes particuliers.
