Connected Digital Resource Management in Personal Learning Environment

Résumé

In this paper we focus on user digital resources management in order to assist users in the consolidated management of their resources in an interactive and adaptive system. The increase in the production of digital data these last years raises several issues regarding the management of these heterogeneous and multiple source data in the user’s environment. Users are facing problems of choosing the right digital resources and assembling these resources to achieve their objectives in an activity. Our work consists of proposing an automatic method of digital resources selection and connection in the user activity. We propose an approach of digital resource connection, which gives a best use experience of digital resources. The connected digital resource is based on digital resource similarity and Resource Configuration Management (RCM) methods. We introduce PRISE (Personal Interactive research Smart Environment), an interactive and adaptive PLE to assist researchers in using and managing their digital resources efficiently. PRISE architecture is based on three essential parts of the system : the user model, the process model and the resource model. Our aim is to maintain a consistency in terms of interaction between the users and the digital resources in an activity. An experimental implementation of our methods is carried out in our laboratory.
