Vers un cadre conceptuel de valorisation du patrimoine par le biais du tourisme durable (Étude du cas des maisons-jardins traditionnelles de Hue, Vietnam)

More than ever the development of tourism should be based on heritage and vice versa, as success in enhancing the value of heritage via tourism is a great way to promote and preserve it (Gillot, 2007). To support this point of view, a research has been carried out by both qualitative and quantitative methods which aimed at four actors : tourists, Hue traditional garden houses owners, tour operators and travel agencies, and local authorities. The purpose of this article is to support the recommandations of managing the Hue traditional garden houses, located in Hue city, central Vietnam, in the direction of sustainable tourism development. Taking as a theoretical framework the concept of tourism policy developed by Goeldner, Ritchie and McIntosh (2000) and the concept of sustainable tourism, the author proposes, in a perspective of sustainable tourism development, a conceptual framework consisting og three major policy components : competitiveness, sustainability and institutional policy.
