Ultra-wideband GCPW-MS transitions for characterising microwave and photonic components based on thin polymer
Résumé
Back-to-back grounded coplanar-microstrip transitions with an unpatterned bottom ground plane and without via-holes are analysed. Theoretical results are compared to experimental ones. In addition to the very broad measured bandwidth of 40 GHz, they have a remarkably lower cutoff frequency of only 200 MHz. Such transitions are suitable, for instance, for on-wafer characterisation of very wideband microwave photonic packaged components built on thin film materials.
