Le fond du ciel nocturne
Résumé
On propose une explication originale à l'aspect noir du ciel nocturne. Les étoiles lointaines et invisibles ne peuvent pas provoquer un signal détectable par addition de leurs émissions, puisque ces émissions ne sont pas cohérentes entre elles. La proposition repose sur l'aspect vibratoire de la lumière et se trouve compatible avec les procédés perfectionnés de détection cohérente ou hétérodyne. Les astres lointains, incapables de collaborer pour être détectés, produiraient cependant du bruit non incompatible avec le fond diffus cosmologique. An new explanation is suggested for the darkness of the night sky. Remote invisible stars cannot produce a detectable signal by sommation of their emissions, since their contributions are incoherent, in phase and in polarisation. The proposed explanation takes in account only the wave aspect of light and agrees with the advanced methods of coherent or heterodyne detection and it is perhaps compatible with the observed cosmic background radiation.
