32x10 Gbit/s DWDM metropolitan network demonstration with 10 waveband-ADMs and 155 km TeraLight™ Metro fiber
Résumé
In this paper, we demonstrated the physical feasibility of a transparent waveband-based DWDM metropolitan ring network with 10 nodes and different fiber spans between nodes. it operates at 32x10 Gbit/s per fiber over up to 155 km TeraLight™ Metro fiber in an experiment which is representative of a real metropolitan network. Such a network is cost effective thanks to demultiplexing and switching cost sharing between the wavelengths gathered in wavebands, thanks to amplification cost sharing between nodes (one double-stage EDFA for two nodes is achievable), and thanks to TeraLight™ Metro fiber which avoids to use dispersion compensated fibre (DCF) modules for more than 150 km of transmission.
