The Spatial Productivity of Industrial Land
Résumé
This paper presents a theoretical approach to analysing the concept of spatial productivity and the meaning of land as a production factor in regional science. The results of an empirical study of industrial estates in the Netherlands are presented, showing regional differences in the spatial productivity of industrial estates and providing explanations for these differences. It shows that spatial productivity is influenced by urbanisation rates, the share of manufacturing employment on industrial estates and land development policy.
