Application of fuzzy AHP method in prioritizing patients' needs

Résumé

Accessing a hospital through the emergency room (ER) has become a subject of study for many researchers involved in pricing and resource allocation in health care. The research developed in this paper aims to measure the performance the ED of Sfax Hospital as perceived by its patients. In the methodology, triangular fuzzy numbers were introduced in the conventional analytic hierarchy process (AHP) in order to address the imprecise judgments. The results indicate that in order to maximize the patients' satisfaction and perceptions of value, it is crucial to optimize the use of particular human resources.
