Conception of numerical and experimental tools for study of the Tribological Transformation of Surface (TTS)

Résumé

The transformation of the near-surface layer or of the surfaces (TTS) has been a widely known phenomenon for a long time. The phenomenon of the transformation can be demonstrated and recognised, even in case of extreme small specific normal loads and already at the beginning of the displacement (of the friction), but it has not yet been clarified, in consequence of which and what kinds of transformation processes take place during the formation of the TTS. The relation between the formation of the TTS and the beginning of the particle-detachment is also a question to answer. In this paper, we try to reproduce the experimental observations established by acoustical microscope with the help of a numerical (FEM) simulation.
