This paper deals with kʰlah in contemporary khmer. kʰlah works either as a noun determiner or as an indefinite pronoun. In standard grammars (such as Gorgonief (1966), Huffman (1970), Khin Sok (2000)), kʰlah is associated with the notions of plurality and indefinition, but, as far as we know, there is no systematical description. kʰlah proves to have a fairly complex distribution.
