Cross-framework Grammar Engineering using Constraint-driven Metagrammars
Résumé
In this paper, we present an abstract constraint-driven formalism for grammar engineering called eXtensible MetaGrammar and show how to extend it to deal with cross-framework grammar engineering. As a case study, we focus on the design of tree-adjoining, lexical-functional, and property grammars (TAG / LFG / PG). A particularly interesting feature of this formalism is that it allows to apply specific constraints on the linguistic structures being described.
