Tropical forests, people and food: an overview

Résumé

The contrasting histories of different continents and their tropical forests provide the basic context in which the diversity of feeding strategies observed today was developed. These strategies form a continuum from subsistence foraging to commercial farming . They typically also necessitate a conceptual approach that focuses on biocultural interactions.
