An annotation tool to ease interactions and design decisions making report in project review context

Due to complexity of product and to globalization, many experts have to collaborate at distance in concurrent engineering organization for designing products. Synchronous phase like project review have to alternate with asynchronous one. Articulation between works done during these two types of phases is required to keep coherency in the design project. Proposition is made to use annotation and a shared whiteboard tool based on annotation (Swhift) to ease interactions and design decisions making report in project review context for improving this articulation. A scenario-based experiment highlights interests to use annotation in relation with the concepts of problem structuring and intermediary objects.
