The Farmer's Field School (FFS) Approach: A research-action method involving more rural producers in controlling and improving their production system: FFS cases in Western Kasai/D.R.C. The ten pilots FFS settled in West Kasaï in 2003 allowed their members to experiment the new ways to manage their farming and the encouraging results are obtained. The originality and the easiness of the process allow the better appropriation of the innovations by the peasants, imply their active participation in agricultural knowledge building and then, increase the standing of peasant's work. The appropriation of the approach by the important agricultural coaching services and projects, and its popularization to the all peasant's populations can contribute to the food sovereignty, through the promotion of healthy and sustainable agriculture, allowing satisfaction the food needs of the local populations and to preserve their environment. A meticulous thought on the sustainable funding conditions of the approach is indispensable.
