Several unsymmetrical heterobiaryls have been synthesized through palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of lithium triorganozincates. The latter have been prepared by deprotonative lithiation followed by transmetalation using non hygroscopic ZnCl2*TMEDA (1/3 equiv).
